Last time y'all saw Natalie she was doing a little bit of quilting to make the cover of her Stitch & Sew Book Sampler.
Simple quilting is nothing more than stitching over two pieces of fabric with some type of padding (batting) in between. Here Natalie is stitching in straight rows.
Natalie also recently learned she could sew on cardstock and make her own unique Sew Cards!!
But what about the pages of her Stitch Book. Well it's already October and Natalie is now 8 years old. She's been busy selecting from different embroidery stitches she wants to include in her book.
We used cross-stitch fabric for the pages in our book because the fabric is stiff and can take all kinds of heavy stitching without the need of interfacing or a hoop. We measured the fabric and folded it in half before stitching it down the spine of the book.
Here's a sample of Natalie's machine embroidery stitches -- She chose a checkerboard pattern along with stars, flowers and leaves.
Natalie is also going to learn hand embroidery. We'll be learning how to cross-stitch and how to make daisy stitches, fly stitches and french knots, etc.
Sew, that's a wrap!
-- especially pretty in the zebra print ribbon she selected as a tie closure to her Stitch & Sew Book Sampler
