Open Door Ways

I've always been fascinated with doorways and gateways and often find myself taking pictures of them and wondering where they will lead me and what will I see there -- Ponderings.

Imagination sparks creativity and these doors were meant not just to open, but also to enter and linger.

What will you find? Pink Cabbages in a Window Box

A Statue taking flight atop the trees.

While you stand in the middle of Purple Wildflowers.

Will there be double doors decorated with wreaths?

An urn on brick steps and a watchful dog made of stone.

And then you find to your delight, bunny rabbits, soft and sweet.

Is it a door to a house of peeling paint?

Yet in the backyard, amazing blue hydrangeas bloom to God's paint brush.

Is there a wide porch with stucco and archways?

And in the courtyard, giant sunflowers grow against a white-washed fence.

Or do you go behind an iron gate?

That leads to green grass and an arbour, by chance?

And past the arbour, another gate where the green grows wild, shall you take a peek?

Down, down, down, deep lush green into a bayou.

Where magnolia blooms pop in this dense wild green.

And hibiscus grow low to the ground as big as your hand.

Or is your doorway massive with thick walls of concrete? Is it a castle with century old vines climbing its walls?

Can you imagine big enough to see no limitations?

When you open those doors, you are on your mountaintop and in the valley below is a vineyard stretched out as far as you can see under the bluest skies.

Dreams as if in a postcard do come true.

Follow your heart and God opens gates and doors, but you have to enter to occupy, you have to ponder to possess and you have to linger a little longer to see His hand in all of this.

Would love to hear from you; so leave a comment or two.  What gate or door have you opened lately and where did it lead you and what did you see?

I recently went through a tiny little door in a book back to my childhood and into a part of my imagination that I thought I had lost somewhere once I had became a grownup. The book was Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery (my childhood fave). Thanks so much for your comment on my blog- I was smiling from ear to ear as I read it! Yes, we are all copy kats!

Beautiful doorways! I love doorways, especially of those in Europe and other parts of the world. Thanks for stopping by blog. Seems we do have a lot of common.

Oh, I feel JUST the same about doorways. They seem to invite you into another world. Like the one in The Secret Garden. Have you read that book? I LOVED it when I was little for that very reason.
